Delrin®

Delrin®, a registered trademark of DuPont (USA), refers to a polyoxymethylene (POM) engineering plastic characterized by high mechanical strength, wear resistance, and chemical resistance—particularly in humid environments. Due to its high strength, modulus, impact resistance, and fatigue resistance, it serves as a weight-reducing metal replacement.

    Performance Features

    ● Mechanical Properties: Delrin® exhibits hardness, rigidity, and strength comparable to metals, with tensile strength reaching 70 MPa and outstanding fatigue resistance.

    ● Wear Resistance & Self-Lubrication: Features a low coefficient of friction, enabling long-term performance in sliding components without additional lubrication. Ideal for gears, bearings, and similar applications.

    ● Chemical Resistance: Resistant to oils and solvents, but sensitive to strong acids and oxidizers. When stabilized, it remains chemically stable up to 230°C.

    ● Dimensional Stability: Low water absorption (0.2%-0.5%), maintaining high precision despite temperature/humidity fluctuations.

    ● Temperature Resistance: Long-term service range: -40°C to 100°C; can briefly withstand 120°C to 160°C.

    Application Fields

    Widely used in:

    ● Automotive (transmissions, water pumps, airbags)

    ● Machinery (gears, bearings)

    ● Appliances (printer nozzles)

    ● Electronics (printed circuit boards, etc.)
