ECTFE

ECTFE is a partially fluorinated semi-crystalline polymer offering a unique combination of mechanical properties, heat resistance, chemical resistance, and processability. Halar® ECTFE, a copolymer of ethylene and chlorotrifluoroethylene, provides distinct advantages over other fluoropolymers for end-users. It is a versatile polymer available in various forms to meet processing requirements. Halar® exhibits outstanding abrasion resistance, corrosion resistance, and barrier properties.

    Core Properties

    ● Chemical Resistance: Resists chemicals and organic solvents across pH 1-14 within a temperature range of -50°C to +330°C (-58°F to +626°F), except for molten chlorinated alkalis and hot amine solvents.

    ● Mechanical Properties: Superior strength, abrasion resistance, and creep resistance compared to PTFE, FEP, and PFA, with stable performance at elevated temperatures.

    ● Flame Resistance: Decomposes into a carbonized char layer when exposed to flame, preventing flame propagation.

    ● Electrical Properties: Dielectric constant of 2.6, with high stability across frequencies and temperatures.

    Application Fields

    ● Cable Sheathing: Used for high-voltage cables, rail transit cables, fire-resistant cables, etc., providing both high-temperature resistance and corrosion protection.

    ● Chemical Processing Equipment: Manufacture of valves, pump components, and filters for use in strong acid/alkali environments.

    ● Pipe Linings: Linings for fiber optic conduits, unsupported pipes, and reinforced plastic pipes to enhance corrosion resistance.

    ● Coatings: Anti-corrosion coatings for metals, suitable for highly corrosive environments.
