Rulon® High-Performance Engineering Plastic Technical Specification

Rulon® is a series of high-performance engineering plastics modified from PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene) base material, specifically designed for wear-resistant, low-friction and extreme environment applications. By incorporating special additives (such as glass fiber, carbon fiber, graphite, etc.), it significantly enhances the mechanical properties of pure PTFE while maintaining excellent chemical inertness and temperature resistance.

    Core Characteristics and Advantages

    ✔ Exceptional Wear Resistance

Friction coefficient as low as 0.02~0.1 (comparable to pure PTFE)

Wear resistance 10~1000 times that of pure PTFE (depending on specific grade)

    ✔ Broad Temperature Range Adaptability

    Long-term service temperature: -200°C to +260°C

Short-term temperature resistance up to 300°C

✔ Chemical Inertness & Corrosion Resistance

Resistant to strong acids, alkalis and organic solvents (except molten alkali metals and fluorine gas)

    UV resistant, aging resistant

    ✔ Enhanced Mechanical Properties

High compressive strength (up to 70 MPa for some grades)

    Low creep, excellent dimensional stability

    ✔ Safety Compliance

    FDA food-grade certification (selected grades)

Complies with aerospace (AMS), semiconductor (SEMI) and other industry standards

    Typical Application Fields

    • Industrial machinery: Oil-free bearings, gears, piston rings

    • Semiconductor: Wafer carriers, vacuum chamber seals

    • Food & medical: Filling equipment, surgical instrument guide components

    • Aerospace: Flight control system bushings, rocket engine seals

    • Energy & chemical: Pump/valve components, corrosive media handling
